  • Roush Yates Engines wins Special Achievement for Le Mans (new award introduced this year) accepted by Wade Riesterer, Technical Manager for Road Racing at RoushYates Engines.

  • Dr Mark Handford at Multimatic wins  the Dino Toso Racecar Aerodynamicist of the Year for the Ford GT

  • Barry Plowman, Technical Director at Team  Dynamics and Neil Brown Engineering win Race Engine Designer of the Year

  • Magneti Marelli wins the Don Burgoon Most Innovative New Motorsport Product for their high speed camera accepted by Damien Dussurgey, Head of Sales and Marketing 

 

WMS 2015

  • Dr Brendan Gilhome, Head of Aerodynamics and Ben Mallock, Deputy Head of Aerodynamics at Scuderia Toro Rosso win the Dino Toso Racecar Aerodynamicist of the Year award 

  • Thomas Kraemer at Porsche Motorsport wins Race Engine Designer of the Year

  • Williams Advanced Engineering wins the Don Burgoon Most Innovative Motorsport Product for their battery pack for the entire Formula E Field accepted by Craig Wilson, Managing Director.

 

Following the sad loss of Don Burgoon, the president of Performance Friction Corporation, a couple of months before the 2015 Symposium, the award for the Most Innovative New Motorsport Product of the Year was named in his honour following permission from his wife Mary Ann Burgoon and daughter Nina, who both attended the awards dinner, in recognition of him being a perfectionist and a man of vision, drive and enthusiasm. Performance Friction also won this same award in 2011 accepted by Don himself at the time.

WMS 2014 (Dec)

  • Mike Elliott, Head of Aerodynamics at Mercedes wins the Dino Toso Racecar Aerodynamicist award for his work on the W05 Hybrid

  • Andy Cowell, Managing Director at Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrain wins the Race Engine Designer of the Year for the car's PU106A powerplant.

  • Reventec wins the Most Innovative Motorsport Product for their TMR Non-Contact Linear Position Sensor 

  • Arnaud Martin, Director of Powertrain at RML, wins the new for 2014 Most Innovative Engine Design of the year award for the 3-cylinder turbocharged engine used in the Nissan ZEOD RC.

WMS 2014 (Jan)

  • Peter Prodromou, Chief Aerodynamicist at Red Bull Racing wins the Dino Toso Racecar Aerodynamicist award for the RB9

  • Ulrich Baretzky, Head of Engine Technology at Audi Sport wins the Race Engine Designer of the Year for the most successful season.

  • Pratt & Miller along with Bosch Motorsport win the the Most Innovative Motorsport Product for their new radar-based collision avoidance system.

WMS 2013 

  • Ralph Hardman (CFD) and Rene Hilhorst (wind tunnel)  at Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG)  win the Dino Toso Racecar Aerodynamicist award for the Toyota TS030.

  • Roger Griffiths, Technical Director and Allen Miller, Performance Development Project Leader at Honda Performance Development (HPD) wins the Race Engine Designer of the Year for the LMP2 engine which had a successful season in 2012.

  • Ole Buhl Racing (OBR) wins the Most Innovative New Motorsport Product for their PCM2

 

WMS 2012

  • Ben Bowlby, Chief Technology Officer at  DeltaWing Racing Cars  wins the Dino Toso Racecar Aerodynamicist award for his work in designing the groundbreaking DeltaWing racecar.

  • Arnaud Martin, Head of Engine Design at RML  wins the Race Engine Designer of the Year for producing an entirely new 1.6 litre engine from a clean sheet of paper

  • Flybrid Systems wins the Most Innovative New Motorsport Product for the Flybrid CFT - Clutched Flywheel Transmission - KERS flywheel-based system accepted by Jon Hilton, Managing Partner.

WMS 2011

  • Adrian Newy, Chief Technology Officer at  Redbull Racing  wins the Dino Toso Racecar Aerodynamicist award 

  • Thomas Laudenbach, Head of Development-Engine at Porsche  wins the Race Engine Designer of the Year 

  • Performance Friction wins the Most Innovative New Motorsport Product of the year award for their ZR43 Low Drag Calliper accepted by Don Burgoon, President.

  • Loic Bigois at Brawn GP wins the Dino Toso Racecar Aerodynamicist award 

  • Francois Coudrain at Peugeot Sport  wins the Race Engine Designer of the Year for his contribution to the Le Mans winning 908

  • Millers Oils wins the Most Innovative New Motorsport Product of the year award for their fantastic groundbreaking nanotechnology range of transmission oils, accepted by Martyn Mann, Technical Director and Nevil Hall, Finance Director.

  • Xtrac wins the Most Innovative New Motorsport Product of the year award for their  Xtrac 516 transmission, accepted by Adrian Moore, Technical Director

  • John Iley, Head of Aerodynamics at Ferrari F1 wins the Racecar Aerodynamicist award 

  • Rob White, Deputy Managing Director (engines) at Renault F1 wins the Race Engine Designer of the Year for the new R07 engine

  • Deutsch UK  win the inaugural Most Innovative New Motorsport Product of the year award for their groundbreaking double density connectors accepted by Dave Watters, Head of Autosport

WMS 2005

  • Dino Toso of Renault wins the Racecar Aerodynamicist award in a year that saw the R25 score eight race victories and secure for the team the Formula one Drivers and Construction Championship.

  • Ulrich Baretkzy, Head of Engine Technology at Audi Sport wins the Race Engine Designer of the Year for his work on the Audi V8 engine that took its sixth successive victory in Le Mans 24 hour race as well as its sixth American Le Mans series manufacturers title.
